As a Construction Defect Claim Specialist at CCMSI, you'll be at the forefront of the insurance industry, responsible for investigating and adjusting a wide range of General Liability Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Construction Defect claims.
Your work will directly impact the quality of claim services perceived by our valued clients, all while upholding our corporate claim standards.
This is a senior-level position that offers the chance to showcase your expertise in the field.
This is a remote position with CCMSI core operational hours being Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:
30pm.
This desk with handle straight construction defect CGL claims, predominately FL subcontracotrs, with mandatory knowledge of AI and NI coverage determinations.
This is a dedicated client desk.

Investigate and Evaluate Claims:
Dive into Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Construction Defect General Liability claims, utilizing established claim handling standards and local laws.
Your keen investigative skills will be put to the test as you gather detailed statements and conduct interviews with various parties to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
Coverage Analysis:
Master the art of analyzing complex general liability coverage and crafting various coverage letters, including reservations of rights, tender analysis, and disclaimers of coverage.
Be prepared for a challenge, as some policies come with manuscript endorsements requiring meticulous attention to detail.
Construction Expertise:
Harness your deep understanding of residential and commercial building construction and repair processes to analyze the accuracy of damage reports prepared by contractors, engineers, and appraisers.
Litigation Management:
Take charge of managing complex litigated files, collaborating closely with defense counsel and clients to ensure the best outcomes.
Resolution Techniques:
Apply your knowledge of resolution techniques such as high-low agreements, proposals for settlement, offers of judgment, declaratory judgments, and litigation management to bring cases to a satisfying close.
Reserve Management:
Establish reserves within your authority and provide recommendations when necessary.
Continuing Education:
Stay up-to-date by maintaining the required state licensing and continuing education.
Bill and Invoice Review:
Scrutinize medical, legal, damage estimate, and miscellaneous invoices to ensure they are reasonable and related to designated claims.
Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution.
Claim Payments:
Authorize and make payments of General Liability claims in line with CCMSI claim procedures and industry standards.
Settlement Negotiations:
Negotiate settlements in compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and state laws.
Vendor Selection:
Assist in the selection, referral, and supervision of designated General Liability files sent to outside vendors, such as legal, surveillance, and case management teams.
Claim Diary:
Keep a meticulous personal diary on our claim system to stay organized and on top of your caseload.
Client Satisfaction:
Always aim for top-notch client satisfaction.
Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing claim status, payments, and reserves as requested.
Communication:
Coordinate communication effectively and in a timely manner with clients, claimants, and relevant parties throughout the claim adjustment process.
Excess/Reinsurance Notices:
Provide notices of qualifying claims to excess/reinsurance carriers.
Advanced Claims:
Handle more complex and involved General Liability claims, requiring minimum supervision.
Client Engagement:
Conduct claim reviews and/or training sessions for designated clients as requested.
Legal Proceedings:
Attend and participate in hearings, mediations, informal legal conferences, and trials as needed.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned.
