Tetra Tech is hiring Housing Rehabilitation Cost Estimators/Inspectors to perform work in the Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Tangipahoa, Ouichita (Monroe) and Lafayette areas of Louisiana.
Site inspections to assess the damage and determine, by their professional judgment, if the damage was/was not a result of the qualifying storm;
Site inspections to define the qualifying project and estimate the cost of the qualifying damage and construction work to be included in the project;
Conduct pre-bid and pre-construction meetings with contractors;
Define a timeline for the inspections for each project;
Conduct the required program inspections and complete required forms in a timely manner;
Assist with the preparation of the internal compliance reports and forms for quality control;
Attend required training programs;
Drive to and from destinations as assigned;
Attend client's internal staff meetings at the request of the client.
A four (4) year Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered; and
Two (2) or more years of large-scale project experience, contributing at an operational, estimator or adjuster level. Experience with CDBG housing and/or FEMA hazard mitigation and similar programs/projects is preferred.
Housing Quality Standards Inspector Certification is desired but not required.
Advanced understanding of construction principles and standard building practices;
Construction estimating experience in the field of residential rehabilitation and new construction and/or insurance adjusting experience;
Xactimate and/or CADD skills;
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills; and
Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills; knowledge of creating tables and graphs in Microsoft Excel; ability to quickly learn new software applications.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to pass a motor vehicle records check. Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle.
Must be able to pass a criminal and financial background check and drug test.
